New report says click fraud is decreasing
Advertisers and independent analysts say creating an independent
third-party organization to gather data from advertisers and search
engines is the best way to really assess and reduce click fraud.
In the meantime, Google has proposed a $90 million settlement to a
class-action click fraud lawsuit that has yet to be approved by the
court.

Yahoo produces one-time disclosure to clarify trends
Yahoo also saw 15% to 20% gains in search queries in the U.S.,
undermining third-party data that suggest the company's market
share is declining, says Chief Financial Officer Susan Decker.
"This is a one-time disclosure to clarify trends," she says.
"Strategically, we believe we are in the sweet spot of online
marketing services." Late yesterday, Yahoo's stock rose $1.81 to
$33.11 in after-hours trading.

MSN wants to offer a question-and-answers site similar to the old Ask Jeeves
Furthermore, unlike MyWeb, Eurekster and other forms of social
search, a question-and-answers offering is concrete and tangible
for MSN members to get them excited and active in the sharing of
information. Let’s just hope that MSN puts some sort of spin on
their “larger” project to differentiate it from Yahoo, and please
please do not call it MSN Answers.
