Google to face stiff competition from BBN and others
There are also tricked-out versions of Google's popular features,
like Google Earth Enterprise, and the $400-per-user Google Earth
Pro feature. Google will be facing stiff competition from incumbents
like BBN, a government contractor based in Cambridge, Mass. It
will also face more competition from the likes of Connecticut-based
TV Eyes Inc., which sells a video search engine that already counts
the Department of Defense as one of its biggest customers.

Brian Kabateck, a lawyer representing Google's click fraud victims tells his case
"If Google customers do not opt out, they will be forced to abide
by the settlement," says Kabateck, a lawyer representing click fraud
victims. To opt out, customers must submit a written and signed
statement requesting exclusion from the class. This statement must
also identifying their name, or if a company is opting out, state
the company’s name and specify that the author is authorized to act
on the company’s behalf. Final approval of the settlement will be
decided in July. Kabateck says he plans to file appeals challenging
the settlement in federal court and in state court in Arkansas.

Add a "Sphere It!" button to your blog
You add a "Sphere it!" button to your favorites. Then, if you
are searching the Web and find an interesting article, you can
click on Sphere it!, and it takes you to a page of the blog posts
it finds that are relevant to the article. We asked Tony, though,
whether the "Sphere it!" feature can be tweaked so that it doesn't
take us to separate page. We'd rather have the page of blog posts
pop up -- allowing us to remain on our original page. We hope he
incorporates the idea.

With the hiring of Steve Berkowitz, now MSN is a powerful search contender
Wish I had archives of the search results pages because those are
where one can really see the positive effect of Steve’s time as CEO
at Ask.com / Ask Jeeves. Microsoft now has a fine and proven leader
at the head of their Online Business Group, which in my opinion should
be enough to cause a ripple in Google & Yahoo’s search armor.
